When I went, I ate the renowned original pizza made with tomato, mozzarella, parmesan, caciocavallo, oregano, and chile. Other well-liked dishes include the Bee Sting with tomato, mozzarella, soppressata, basil, chilli, and honey, as well as the White Guy pizza with mozzarella, ricotta, Parmigiano, and garlic. Spumoni Gardens L&B
The establishment’s founder, Ludovico Barbati, immigrated to America from Torella Di Lombardi, Italy. L&B Spumoni Gardens began supplying pizza and pasta to the neighbourhood by the middle of the 1930s, and in the 1950s, it grew. The restaurant is now open every day from 11:00 am until 11:30 night. Beautiful arches throughout the interior space give the impression that you are in Italy rather than Brooklyn.
The World Famous L&B Sicilian Pie was my favourite dish, but you may make various dishes by adding toppings like mushrooms, sausage, pepperoni, or anchovies. Try a pasta dish like the baked lasagne or the eggplant sicilian, if you haven’t already.
In the centre of the Fulton Ferry neighbourhood, Juliana’s restaurant provides delectable pizza for lunch and dinner every day. Owner and renowned pizza maker Patsy Grimaldi has created a cosy and welcoming atmosphere for visitors. The pizzas are baked in a coal-fired oven, which yields a distinctive and mouthwatering crust.
I relished the meatballs in tomato sauce as my starter, then the pepperoni and mushroom pizza. A selection of toppings, such as prosciutto, roasted peppers, or arugula, are available for guests to add to their choice of red sauce, white pie, or calzone. Grilled chicken, mozzarella, Monterey Jack, white cheddar, homemade guacamole, and cilantro are all ingredients in the inventive pie known as “No.6.”
The Franklin Avenue-Medgar Evers College Train Station in the Crown Heights neighbourhood is close to Barboncino Pizza. The eatery is open from 11:00 a.m. till 11:00 p.m. Neapolitan brick-oven pizzas and inventive cocktails are the restaurant’s specialties. The pizzeria’s chef and proprietor, Ron Browne, has a talent for creating meals that keep customers coming back for more.
Try the white pizza with artichokes and smoked pancetta or the red sauce-topped eggplant and zucchini pie. The pizza with cremini and hot fennel sausage was also delicious. The Early Bird cocktail, made with vodka flavoured with earl grey, honey, lemon, and pear purée, was fantastic. The Hot Fuzz is something else I’d suggest.
On Greenpoint Avenue and Franklin Street in Brooklyn, Paulie Gee’s is open. Although the restaurant offers a number of vegan options, there are currently no gluten-free pizza options available. For the most recent menu and dining information, follow Paulie Gee’s on social media.
The Ricky Ricotta pizza, which had tomatoes, sweet Italian fennel sausage, Pecorino Romano, fresh ricotta, baby arugula, and extra virgin olive oil, was my favourite. The Better Off Veg, which comes with sharp provolone, sautéed broccoli rabe, and thinly sliced hot cherry peppers, is another customer favourite. Additionally, there are a dozen vegan-specific pies available for customers to select from!
Pizza by Joe
Every day at 10:30 am, Joe’s Pizza, a corner restaurant in Williamsburg, starts serving pizza. Joe Pozzuoli, who is originally from Naples, Italy, used the same techniques for making pizza when he relocated to Brooklyn. Joe is still in charge of the restaurant at the age of 75.
Joe’s is popular because of his traditional cheese pizza. It is a beautiful slice and a New York phenomenon. Classic toppings like mushrooms, olives, anchovies, garlic, pepperoni, and sausage are among the options you have.
Giuseppina’s delivers fantastic thin-crust pizza from their corner location close to Prospect Park starting at 5:00 pm every day. The eatery provides delivery, takeaway, and seated dining options. There is a pile of firewood under the bar and a lot of exposed masonry in the snug room. Giuseppina’s has a homey, genuine air, even down to the pies.
The Everything Pizza, which had tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, onions, olives, shallots, bell peppers, hot peppers, portobello mushrooms, fresh garlic, and basil, was my favourite when I was there. Additionally, you can choose from a variety of toppings to make your own pizza. For dessert, I advise you to try the Nutella calzone!
In the Carroll Gardens neighbourhood, Lucali is operating and serving thin-crust pizza. Tuesday nights are when the pizza closes, however it is open for dinner. With the honest conviction that Brooklyn could produce New York’s best pizza, Mark Iacono established Lucali. Everyone in Lucali has a favourite slice, whether they be local families or celebrities.
Pizza with sweet peppers and mushrooms is a good choice. You can add ingredients like spicy peppers, pepperoni, or onions when making a pie or calzone. You are welcome to bring your own beverage to the restaurant to enjoy with your pizza. It’s a terrific location for a lively and interesting supper.
In the Clinton Hill area, Speedy Romeo provides traditional Italian fare including wood-fired pizzas. The structure that presently houses Speedy Romeo was formerly a tavern, a liquor store, an auto body shop, and ultimately, after receiving a modern makeover, a pizzeria. The coveted racehorse, whose portrait is displayed on the wall, and the restaurant have the same name.
The Truffle Shuffle pizza with Tomato, Soppressata, and Truffle Ranch was my favourite dish. Pizza made with bèchamel, roasted garlic, mozzarella, and ricotta is called the White Album. I would suggest the Kansas City hot wings and the stuffed peppers if you are not in the mood for pizza.
Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighbourhood is home to Emily Squared, which offers Detroit-style square pizzas, Italian sandwiches, and an unique burger in a cool atmosphere. Every day for lunch and dinner, the restaurant is open. The owners and chefs of a group of pizzerias, Emily and Matthew Hyland, are passionate about pizza and committed to providing the best pies in the area.
With caramelised onions, sausage, bacon, smoked gouda, a fried egg, green onions, and ranch dressing, the Hangover pizza was delicious. The Big Ang pizza, which also has meatballs, banana peppers, ricotta, double pecorino, and house-made vodka sauce, is another delectable option. Additionally, sample the famous Le Big Matt double-stacked burger!
Pizza by Di Fara
Di Fara Pizza is a well-known takeout and delivery restaurant that serves slices in the Midwood neighbourhood. To get a slice at this well-known local favourite, be ready to wait in line outside the pizzeria. At the age of 82, Domenico De Marco, who founded the restaurant in 1956, is still baking pizza!
Regular or square slices, as well as full pies, can be ordered at the window. The pie in the shape of a square with prosciutto, wild onions, and dried, roasted peppers was delicious. Customers have a choice of premium and traditional toppings; the most widely used ones are pepperoni, meatballs, and black olives.
Emily is another creation by Emily and Matthew Hyland to show their intense love of pizza, and it can be found across from the Fulton Street train station. Online reservations are available. The restaurant serves wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, rustic small plates, and various pasta dishes, and the ambiance is upscale.
The sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, pickled chilli, and honey were my favourites. The Modern with double sauce, herbs, garlic, double pecorino, onion, basil, Szechuan oil, and pepperoni, as well as the Brender with vodka sauce, garlic, mozzarella, banana pepper, and pepperoni, are some more favourites. The carnitas tacos are a must-try; they are undoubtedly the menu outlier but amazing.
In a structure that was formerly a bakery, Brooklyn’s Williamsburg is where Frank Pinello launched Best Pizza in 2022.
The cook at Best Pizza learned how to make pies in a wood-burning oven from his Sicilian and Bensonhurst ancestry. Frank wanted to open a local restaurant serving the greatest slices in town. The pizza shop opens every day at 12:00.
I had the mushroom and caramelised onion pie from Best Pizza, and it was delicious. The store also sells pizzas with a gluten-free crust. Pizza toppings including kale, pepperoni, meatballs, sausage, bacon, and seasonal veggies are available for customization.
In the neighbourhood of Stuyvesant Heights, Saraghina Bakery is now open. Everyday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, the bakery is open. The kitchen transforms baking bread into an act of art by employing only conventional ingredients and methods, such as combining flour, water, and salt, and generating the ideal pizza dough by slowly fermenting ancient and whole grains.
The pizza with Prosciutto and Fungi, tomato sauce, mozzarella, Parma ham, roasted mushrooms, and basil was delicious. The Capocollo with Tomato Sauce, Hot Coppa, Mozzarella, and Basil is another delectable pizza. Before departing, make sure to grab a chocolate chip cookie!
Brooklyn is home to several Table 87 locations, from Park Slope to Sunset Park. The original location opened in Brooklyn Heights in 2022, and since then, the pizzeria has grown to be a well-known neighbourhood staple. Notably, you can order a frozen pizza from Table 87 from anywhere in the nation and enjoy a New York pie from the Midwest to the Pacific Northwest!
The homemade Sausage and Peppers Pizza was a personal favourite of mine. Additionally, I’ve gotten a chance to sample and genuinely love the Prosciutto and Baby Arugula Pizza. The Tommy’s Meatballs Calzone, the Burrata Margherita, and the Table 87 Short Rib Beef Burger are further well-liked menu items.
Brooklyn is a sizable borough that attracts new and younger inhabitants with its diverse areas. The pizzerias in Brooklyn are up to the challenge as the culinary landscape adapts to this new neighbourhood.
